A one-day class creating two-layer monoprints with colored inks and varying sizes of organic materials that are safe to use in the press. This class would consist of the education of printmaking ink and how to mix and prepare it for use, proper use of hand brayers, and the exploration of texture and pattern found in nature within the realm of printmaking.

Everyone will create 5 different prints that will have 2 layers on 11x14 paper. The option of bringing in organic materials by individuals for review by the instructor will be offered as well as a selection of materials provided. Class would begin with an introduction to the studio with a brief description of the press and materials, followed by a presentation of the project with guidance on composition and use of color along with examples brought for participants to see. Instructions on making a registration with newsprint for more accurate layering will be given as well.

Demonstration of the proper use of ink and rolling will be given and how to use the organic materials within a monotype. Concluding with directions on how to make a temporary portfolio out of newsprint for transport.
